JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP MOVIE NIGHT FRIDAY 1ST NOVEMBER

MEMBERS XMAS PARTY DEC 20TH

Ballarat Trots Night – 3rd Oct 2014

THANKYOU to all of the diverse group of members who participated in our first social event for this racing season – a night at the Ballarat trots. It was particularly pleasing to welcome aboard many new members to the club and great to have a Ernie and co make the trip from Bendigo to join us. A nearly full( surprisingly more ‘full’ on the way home) bus ( Daniel where were you??) departed Charlton at 3.30ish Friday – a great effort given the ghastly time slot. Luke we are glad you made it but a reminder it is 50km down Halliday St!

Ballarat proved very accommodating hosts and we were spoilt with excellent service and food. Thanks to Paul Rowse and his team who looked after us extremely well. Many prizes were distributed on the night with some being more lucky than others – Kris Clifford!!

We are not sure who to thank for righting the punting club ship but the last table managed to come good – we will credit Josh I think. So at least money was handed back on the night. Many  thanks to Greg for managing the punters club on the night a thankless task done well. And Di Harvey for her efforts organising tickets, drinks, prizes and buses.

It was particularly a special treat for the racing enthusiasts to see the magnificent Smoken Up one more time as he did a lap before the race named in his honour. We can only dream….

Happy chappies!

Happy chappies!

Many thanks to the cashed up punters who funded drinks on the way home  (was that a good idea??) – very generous of you Simon, Des and Joe.

Also thanks to our driver Ken who under duress managed to get us all home safely. We hope the lolly jar made it past Joe at least once for you to get one.

All round a successful night – only one lost bracelet, one missing phone and one possible knee reco!!

Thanks again everyone we trust you all had a good night.
